You Can't Quarantine Adventure!
Parents and children have had to make major adjustments in the wake of the spread of COVID-19. Many people have been working and learning remotely for several weeks. Restaurants, movie theaters and all kinds of family fun are closed, and kids are clamoring to get out of the house; for something to do.
One option is to send them on a trip. What? Travel is out of the question. That may be true for other destinations, but with a big imagination and the help of a computer with a video camera and microphone, your child can take a safe trip to Sidleterra!
This five-day adventure runs through April and will take your kids ( ages 7 to 10 and 11 to 13) on a journey in the mythical world of Sidleterra where children can dabble in STEM-based experiments where they experience science through creative play or compete in a virtual sword fight or exciting NERF battle.
Your kids will be having fun, but their virtual adventure will take them on an expedition that will teach them how to collaborate, communicate and build teams to succeed. The trip fosters creativity and teaches problem-solving skills all while learning about world cultures and historical characters. Along the way, they’ll learn how to face their fears and tap into their courage.
The fun begins each day at 9 am and continues to 3 pm, with extended day options between 8:30 am and 5 pm for both the 7 to 10 and 11 to 13 age groups. But the fun doesn’t stop when the interactive adventure stops. Every day your child will receive simple projects to work on off-line.
No passports are needed, but there are a few things you will need to participate:
- A big imagination! This is the most important thing of all.
- A computer with a video camera and microphone. Although not required, a portable device that can be used outdoors is encouraged. Live instructors will work with your kids on our conference platform and once registered, you’ll receive digital files with projects for your child to complete for the physical aspect of the adventures.
- A supply of printing paper, cardboard, tape and paint or markers.
