Help The Story School
Donations and Fundraisers
The Story School is always in need of heroes. In 2024, we had over $25,000 in scholarship requests and were just barely able to fill those. In 2025, we anticipate an even greater need as we continue to grow. Support our 2025 season scholarships, props and costumes, and the wonderful staff that make this camp a home for our nerd-o-diverse heroes! You can donate or volunteer at any time to support our interactive, immersive, and inclusive programs. Stay connected to our community by following us on social media

October Fundraiser: "Scaring Up" Costumes
The Story:
When Halloween ends, more than candy goes on sale...The Story School team takes advantage of the spooky savings to purchase props, costumes, and equipment that every good LARP camp needs. Halloween is our favorite holiday but Nov 1st is our favorite shopping day. We strive to give our heroes as much immersion as possible and this is our chance (with your help) to stock up for Camp FABLE and Grimoire.

How You Can Help:
We want to double our donations from 2023. With the clearance sales, it's basically plundering and your donation will feel like double. You can help bring the stories to life (cue Dr. Frankenstein laugh) as your donation creates even more camp magic: a dashing coat, a hat fit for Captain Hook, and "kraken" good makeup FX will make all the difference in summoning our heroes' favorite characters right off the page.

How to Give:
Head to the link below to join our Facebook campaign before October 30th. Happy Spooktober everyone!

"Hero Camp!" Screening and Silent Auction
The Story:
Back in 2019, one of our camp alumni and videographer extraordinaire, Sam Ho, started to make a documentary about The Story School. Many evolutions, one pandemic, and hundreds of other obstacles later, Sam has created an amazing documentary called "Hero Camp!". The film is about three queer youth coming of age at LARP camp and their unique personal journeys alongside each other.

The Screening:
The screening will take place at the very camp that the film focuses on: Prindle Pond Conference Center in Charlton, MA. Tickets are free and open to the public but you will need to register to reserve your seat. We ask that you make a donation to the film and it's crew as part of your ticket. Suggested donation is $20 per ticket (that's the price of a movie ticket and snacks). After the film is done screening there will be a Q&A hosted by the camp director about the film.

The Silent Auction:
In the weeks leading up to the screening, we will open up bidding for a silent auction that will finish up right before the screening. This auction will benefit the scholarship funds for The Story School. Help us make sure nothing stands in the way of the next generation of youth coming to find themselves through the power of story and roleplay. Check out the links below to preview our auction page or suggest an item for donation and bidding.

March Causeplay Challenge
The Challenge:
Wear a costume every day you can from March 27th - April 2nd, donate to The Story School and challenge three friends to do the same. Post your photos tagging our accounts and using the hashtag #agoodcauseplay

The Goal:
Raise money for The Story School and raise awareness of our programs. Take it from us, going out into the world in costume (or camp t-shirt) will raise some eyebrows and some questions. That’s just what we want. By having friends and others you meet ask why you are in costume it opens the door for you to talk about our summer camps! We'll have handouts and talking points for anyone taking on the challenge.
The Ask:
Wear your costume (or camp t-shirt), give a donation to The Story School and challenge your friends to do the same. When asked why you are wearing a costume, be sure to talk about our wonderful summer camp programs and how they need more heroes, counselors, and scholarships. Are you up to the challenge?!

Donate Today
We need your help to bring even more heroes to camp. Our scholarship funds are running low for the 2023 season and we still have more requests and more needs to bring the story to life for as many campers as possible.
